The 2025 Youth in Oil and Gas Summit was hosted under the theme “Drilling into the future: Empowering Youth in Namibia’s Oil and Gas Revolution”.

The summit aims to bridge the gap between the youth and the oil and gas sector in order to position youth as leaders at the forefront of the global energy transition through creating a dialogue and engagement platform for capacity building.  It was graced with the presence of local players in the sector, students and young Namibians with an interest to advance their knowledge on the sector. Various speakers highlighted the critical role academic institutions such as the Namibia University and Science and Technology play in oil and gas education by ensuring curricular aligns with the needs of the sector. The role of research centres such as the Institute for Land, Livelihoods and Housing is essential in producing impactful research regarding the sector. Youth organisations such as the Youth Initiative for Land in Africa particularly have a pivotal function in harnessing the opportunity, determining the land consequences and mainstreaming it into land governance.
