ILLH Participates in International Conference on Sustainability and Education for Sustainable Development

From 3–5 September 2025, the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), through the Institute of Land, Livelihoods and Housing (ILLH), joined global partners at the International Conference on Sustainability and Education for Sustainable Development, hosted by the University Pedagógica de Maputo, Mozambique.
The conference formed part of the Planetary Utilization of Sustainability Strategies (PLUS) network, funded by DAAD, which brings together nine universities across Southern Africa, Latin America, and Germany. The network promotes international collaboration and critical reflection on urgent sustainability challenges, including ecological pressures, social inequality, and resource extractivism. By integrating perspectives from the Global South, PLUS highlights the socio-ecological consequences of global transformations while offering alternative approaches to dominant sustainability discourses. These engagements contribute directly to advancing the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
ILLH’s participation underscored NUST’s commitment to shaping innovative, inclusive, and globally connected approaches to sustainability education, strengthening its role as a regional hub for knowledge and collaboration.
